This workshop is held in an agricultural farm 50 minutes from the center of Athens, in Salamina island.
We will have the chance to meet with farmers and learn all the secrets about rural living. With the help of the experts, we will make our own feta cheese and indulge into tomato, rusks and olive tasting!
Then, in smaller groups we will create our own vegetable garden, make a tree house with the help of an architect, while some volunteers will help our cooking team prepare the one and only traditional fasolada (vegan pea soup) for our lunch. Before sunset we will head back to Athens.
Some words about methodology;
In this workshop kids will have the chance to experience a side of agricultural life. Inspired by Greek folk tradition, this workshop aims to involve children in the process of outdoor exploration. With an interdisciplinary perspective children will taste, feel, touch, smell and see how history, customs, and traditions become a part of our everyday life.
